Pitt Meadows Draft Climate Action Strategy - Survey 2

Residents, businesses and communities in Pitt Meadows are experiencing significant impacts from natural hazard events such as flooding, landslides, debris flow, heavy rainfall, wildfires, drought and extreme heat. Climate change, which has been proven to be driven by human activities, is worsening these events, making them more frequent and intense. These events have caused damage to properties, infrastructure (e.g., bridges and roads), and crops, as well as impacted the physical and mental health of residents.

In response, the City of Pitt Meadows has developed a draft Climate Action Strategy. The strategy aims to identify ways to strategically reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, improve resilience to future climate hazards, and outline the steps and resources needed to achieve these goals. The strategy will be a guide for Pitt Meadows to build a resilient and sustainable future for our community.

The strategy is currently in its draft phase and the City of Pitt Meadows is seeking community input through a survey to identify concerns and priorities that will guide the strategy’s implementation.
