Help the City of Pitt Meadows better understand the child care needs of our community and inform the Pitt Meadow’s Child Care Assessment to be completed in 2020.

The Parent survey will be available from December 5, 2019 to February 21, 2020. The Child Care Provider Survey will be available from January 29, 2019 to March 1, 2020.

In spring 2019, the City of Pitt Meadows received a $25,000 grant for a community childcare needs assessment under the 2019 Community Child Care Planning grant program administered by the Union of BC Municipalities.

A child care action plan will enable the City to: better understand current capacity, identify shortfalls, establish overall community needs, create an inventory of child care spaces and to determine 10 year targets for space creation.

As part of this process, the City will engage with the community (existing daycare providers, parents, Katzie First Nation, School District 42, local preschools and special interest groups) to ensure that the needs, priorities and values of Pitt Meadows families are understood and incorporated into the plan. All of the action items identified in the plan will closely align with the City’s Official Community Plan and Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
